“He rang me two days ago, from Asia, and I believe I was the first person he told. We had a long conversation, a warm conversation.
He rang me again yesterday and we had another long conversation. In the end, for all parties, you need to make a decision and move on.
So we had to look at other options.”—Martin Whitmarsh
Neither did McLaren at one point, like I said teams are always changing in terms of form. Back in the day McLaren could never beat Williams, I’m talking a while ago though :p Anyway I wouldn’t judge until Lewis sits in the car. :)
Of course, you’re right. It all changes. We have to wait and see. I’m sad because apparently my fav driver won’t be racing for my fav team anymore. But like you said, “oh, well”, that’s all I can say right now as well. I wish him the best. Good night then, it was fun to discuss this with someone. :)
Nico won in the Merc this season which shows the car has got pace. I dont think its a bad move I just think a lot of Mclaren and British racing fans are dissapointed that Lewis isnt staying at the English team.
I don’t know. They’re not the most consistent team, are they? Yes, they won a race this year, but the last time they did that was in 2009. Just think about BAR, BAR Honda and Honda era. I’m sorry but they don’t have a good track record(pun intended).
Eh, oh well. Lewis and Nico will make a good pair. Two great drivers. Are you English?
Nope, I’m Turkish. But I’m a McLaren and Lewis fan. I’ve been a McLaren fan before Lewis in a matter of fact. That’s why I don’t want him to leave. ‘Cause I don’t think I’ll be supporting him anymore if he leaves McLaren. They are(were?) a match made in heaven. I don’t think Merc could give him a car to fight for titles. And I also think McLaren would lost its most important asset if the switch happens. He can make a car go faster than it should. That’s why he’s special. And McLaren wouldn’t have that edge anymore.
